Sailor Hans Schipper has modified his boat (formerly known as Cool Finn) once again.
His first modification resulted in a re-naming of the craft to “Triple A“. Now he is calling it the “Triple B“.
Details below, including pics and videos.

Hi Jo,
It took some time to make a rebuild of the Cool Finn and at the end I had really enough of building boats but now I am satisfied with the result, named Triple B.
The boat is performing well, without a daggerboard. The ama’s from the coolcat catamaran are narrowly formed so they work as a daggerboard. Due to sufficient buoyancy of the amas, the trimaran does not have to be that wide. With a little help from the jib the boat is tacking OK.
With light weather it sails beautifully with the bollejan or halfwinder but with more wind the wind gets a hold on the rolled up sail and you would rather not! I wonder how others do that with a halfwinder? Remove it in time?
I think the speed is similar to the triple A (about 13 knots) but I did not measure it yet. And of course, there are still little things to do to make it easier for single handed sailing.
When I feel like doing a job again I will make foils to the amas and in the middle behind, but for the time being I will mainly sail with it.
I hope you will share it it on smalltrimarans.com
Warm regards,
Hans Schipper
