We’ve talked about the concept of a “fuel efficient” powered trimaran before. But not in awhile.
Here is an interesting looking one though. It’s a model called EAGLE 4.6 Power Trimaran.
According to this page on the Duckworks site – http://www.duckworksmagazine.com/10/designs/eagletri/index.htm – the designer was James Brett Marine Design, of Auckland, New Zealand. The Bret Marine website seems to currently be down though.
That being said, building plans for this boat are available from JB Watercraft here: https://www.jbwatercraft.com/eagle-4-6
When you go to that page you’ll see the YouTube vid below. I love the concept of this for a powered boat. It just seems to make a lot of practical sense for a small engine-powered boat.
I’ve seen lots of fisherman on high-priced boats with big engines flying around, spending lots of moolah to gas those beasts up every time they go out. I have to imagine a few of them would like something akin to an Eagle … if they knew about it.
Perhaps not. But, who knows. Maybe?
All the specs, including a comprehensive write-up, are posted on the JB Watercraft page.
