Allel BEHIDJ, the boat designer (and entrepreneur) at SardineBoats just sent me the following news. He told me that construction of a Sardine Run 23 trimaran will soon begin in San Francisco, CA.
Intended design goals, specs and image renderings of the new design from Allel follow.

After building a 27 feet outrigger canoe, Chris contacted me in April 2018. He was very interested in the plans of the Sardine Run 19, trimaran built by Sardine Boats in 2016. However Chris wishes it a little bigger, around 26 feet, but with the same line and a different folding system.
He is planning is to sail for the day or for weekends in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Pacific Coast with a minimum of comfort for 3-4 people. The boat must be efficient, easy to steer alone and of course its set up must be fast.
After many constructive exchanges, a more reasonable formula of 23 feet is adopted.
A good weight / sail ratio promises great performance without being extreme.
The construction is epoxy glass / carbon and should begin this winter for a period of 2 years, which is relatively short for an amateur builder.
